Undergraduates enrolled in the Bioengineering program at the University of Toledo must complete requirements in five different areas in order to graduate. These requirements are:
- Basic science and mathematics core courses (45 hours):
BIOL 2150, 2160, 2170, 2180 (10 hours)
CHEM 1230, 1240, 1280, 1290 (10 hours)
MATH 1850, 1860, 2850, 3860 (15 hours)
PHYS 2130, 2140 (10 hours)
- Bioengineering and engineering core courses (47 hours):
EECS 2300, CIVE 1150 (7 hours)

- Technical electives (15 hours):
A total of 15 hours in technical electives is required; a minimum of 6 hours must be selected from 4000-level BIOE courses. See Technical Electives and Elective Sequences for more details.
- Communication skills, social sciences, humanities, and multicultural issues (21 hours):
ENGL 1110, ENGL 2950 (6 hours)
Humanities, social science and multicultural electives (15 hours)
- A minimum of three semester-long co-op experiences.
