For assisting with registration, senior design students from the Computer Science Engineering Technology program have developed the Schedule Builder program. To use this program:

  • select the semester you wish to register for, and then enter the courses that you need to take in the form BIOE1000, MATH1850, etc.
  • the Schedule Builder program will return a number of possible schedules with all specified courses and associated call numbers
  • you may also specify a particular course section, such as an honors section, by entering the section number in the form BIOE1000091, CIVE1150091, etc.
  • use a plus sign in front on the course name and section (+BIOE1000091) to force an unavailable section to be included in the list of valid course schedules

Note that Distance Learning courses are not included in the course schedules provided by the Schedule Builder program. If you prefer the old fashioned method, a registration worksheet is available as a regular PDF or as a fillable PDF for your convenience.

Other tips to remember when registering for classes:

  1. You can register on the myUT web portal, or in person at the registrar's office in Rocket Hall.
  2. Make sure you have obtained the signatures of your advisor and professor if an override is required to register for a course.
  3. Be aware of PAYMENT DUE dates!!! These are always posted in the UT Course Schedule.
  4. Remember your PIN number or write it down in a safe, secure place.
  5. "R" in the day column of the course-scheduling book represents Thursday.
  6. Shaded course times specify evening or Saturday classes.
  7. Remember to specify if you need a parking permit when registering.
  8. You can opt to remove the $8 Legal Fee if you wish.
  9. Refer to your Bioengineering Flowcharts and the University Catalog for prerequisites, hours and other information prior to registering.
  10. You must satisfy all prerequisites before registering for a class. Exceptions are rarely granted and only under extenuating circumstances.
  11. You must receive written approval from the course instructor and from the BIOE undergraduate program director before registering for a BIOE course if you have not met all of the prerequisites.
  12. Full-time status is 12 - 16 credit hours; you will be charged for each additional hour in excess of 16 hours.
  13. Do not register for more classes than you can handle; students should not exceed 18 hours in one semester.
  14. Make sure your schedule does not contain overlapping or conflicting class times.
  15. Know what buildings your classes meet in.
  16. Plan enough time between classes to get from one side of campus to the other, to eat, to study, etc.
