I graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Specialized Studies in Social Science with a minor in 20th century American History. I also earned my Master's Degree in Higher Education from Ohio University. I am now pursuing my Ph.D. in Higher Education at the University of Toledo. My oldest daughter also attends the University of Toledo.
I assist students from the time they begin to explore college choices, during their time at UT, and through graduation in the Department of Bioengineering. I am responsible for the Bioengineering Open House for admitted students, the Rocket Launch and Rocket Transition orientation programs for new and transfer students, our peer mentoring program, academic questions and concerns, and just about everything related to our undergraduate program. In addition, I help students stay on track for graduation, assist with scheduling issues, and I am especially good with listening to students. You will often find students just hanging out in my office chatting, working on homework, or stopping by for a piece of candy!
Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. I will be happy to assist you or direct you to the appropriate person. The best way to reach me is by email at wiona.porath@utoledo.edu.
Welcome to the University of Toledo Department of Bioengineering! I look forward to working with you!
